S/Y Boo Tiger

The Jeanneau-built Sun Odyssey Deck Saloon 49ft yacht “Boo Tiger” is a Class A (ocean-going) veteran of the 2006 ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers), crossing the Atlantic in 16 days from Gran Canaria to St. Lucia. She has now found a permanent home in the beautiful British Virgin Islands. She is a sloop-rigged (single masted) monohull with a 2.2 meter-deep keel for a high degree of stability and comfort, whatever the weather. Built in France in 2006, she is equipped with every luxury and a high specification of safety equipment.

Power
Boo Tiger is powered by a 75hp Yanmar diesel engine and carries mainsail, genoa, asymmetric spinnaker and storm jib. All lines feed back to the cockpit for safe and easy handling. Whether you are an experienced sailor or a beginner, you will love the speed, sense of power and yet the ease with which she sails.

Below Deck
With 3 double cabins and a dining area which converts into a double bunk Boo Tiger can comfortably sleep 8. There is full air conditioning in all cabins. The saloon is spacious and the galley (kitchen) fully equipped with fridge and freezer, four-ring gas hob and oven with grill - a truly fabulous on-board catering facility. Tap water on the islands is safe to drink but Boo Tiger also carries her own reverse-osmosis water maker, turning sea water into clean, fresh drinking water.

 On Deck
There is a large cockpit with twin helming wheels and seating for 8. A drop-leaf cockpit table offers on-deck dining. The wide foredeck is a great suntrap, a place to sunbathe, get away from the bustle of the cockpit, enjoy a good book or just soak up the scenery. For safety and shelter, spray dodgers surround the cockpit and netting attached to the lifelines surrounds the side and foredecks. A sprayhood and large bimini protect the cockpit from the heat of the Caribbean sun.

Safety
Boo Tiger is fully equipped with ocean-specification safety equipment. Below decks are gas and smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.

For safety reasons, smoking is not allowed below decks or on the foredeck.

For your sailing safety there are eight lifejackets which inflate automatically on contact with water. There are eight safety lines which attach to various safety points on deck and two safety lines running along the side decks to give access to the foredeck.

A self-inflating 8-person life raft is carried together with a full range of distress flares. Boo Tiger has both VHF and Long Range Radio equipment and the skipper is fully trained and certified to use both.

Your skipper is also a trained first-aider with access to a comprehensive first aid kit.

The boat also carries an EPIRB radio beacon which activates on contact with water and guides coastguards to the exact location.
